Below are the Assessments and Charges as they pertain to the Service Area they are found under. Accounts that are delinquent over 30 days from the date of billing shall be assessed a $5.00 penalty plus 3% interest per quarter. **The Water and Wastewater Service Areas are on a quarterly billing cycle (July-Sept, Oct-Dec, Jan-March, April-June). Bills are typically mailed the first week after each quarter ends. Penalties and interest are applied during the first week of the second month following a quarter end if no payment has been received by that time. Services are cut off the first week of the third month following a quarter end for nonpayment.

Facility Info

Developer built facility to serve approximately 400 “Park Model” homes that was turned over to the County for operation. Development is seasonal in nature with owners permitted a maximum of 9-months of occupancy. Facility is a 1990 version of a treatment lagoon with a dedicated spray irrigation site for effluent disposal.

Water is provided from two (2) water supply wells and a water treatment facility.

Quarterly flat user rates:
  • $181.50 per park trailer, includes water and sewer service.
  • $309.38 per EDU for sewer service only.

Quaterly commercial flat rate:

  • $136.13 per EDU for sewer service only.

Unimproved lots:

  • $191.25 quarterly accessibility charge per EDU (not connected).

Facility Info

Water only service area of forty-eight (48) customers just outside the Town limits of Berlin.   Wastewater service is by private septic.  Water comes from three wells sunk about 125 feet into an underground source of water called the Pocomoke Aquifer. These wells are owned and operated by the Town of Berlin, Md. Service Area purchases water from the Town of Berlin, Maryland.

Quarterly flat domestic rates are as follows:
  • $90.00 per EDU which includes water service only.

Quarterly minimum commercial user rates:

  • $50.00 per EDU which includes water service only.

Additional commercial water charges based on usage as follows:

  • $11.00 per 1,000 gallons.

Flat Swimming pool charge - $100.00 quarterly.
Flat Irrigation system charge - $100.00 quarterly.
Unimproved Lots - Quarterly Accessibility charge $42.50 per EDU (Not yet connected).

Facility Info

Developer-built wastewater collection system serving approximately 240 customers.  System includes one (1) pump station pumping wastewater to Sussex County DE for treatment.

Water is provided by a connection to the Artesian Water Company in Delaware.

Quarterly domestic user rates are as follows:

Domestic minimum water and sewer $230.00.

Additional domestic water charges based on usage as follows:

  • $8.00 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.
  • $15.00 per 1,000 gallons over 22,500 gallons.

Flat domestic water only (not metered) $220.00.

Flat domestic sewer only (not metered) $190.00.

Unimproved Lots - Quarterly Accessibility charge $119.00 per EDU (not yet connected).

The standard quarterly assessment for Sussex County debt service is $0.02 per linear front foot per quarter as established by the Worcester County Sanitary Disctrict Assessment records.

Facility Info

Developer-built water and wastewater system to serve approximately 350 unit development.  Plant was constructed then turned over to the County to operate.  Includes a 100,000 gallon per day wastewater treatment plant producing high-quality effluent which is discharged into a shallow groundwater injection field.

Water is provided from two (2) water supply wells and a water treatment facility.

Quarterly domestic and commercial user rates are as follows:
  • Minimum water and sewer $360.00 per EDU.

Additional water and sewer charges based on usage as follows:

  • $5.00 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.
  • $15.00 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.

Unimproved Lots - Quarterly accessibility charge $306.00 per EDU (Not yet connected).

Lewis Road domestic water only minimum set at $60.00 per quarter.

Facility Info

Developer-built wastewater treatment plant turned over to the County for operations.  Facility has a capacity of 40,000 gallons per day and effluent is spray irrigated onto the golf course (8-holes) by the Golf Course Operator.

Water is provided by individual water wells.

Quarterly flat domestic and commercial user rates are as follows:
  • Improved Lots - Quarterly charge $276.38 per EDU for sewer service only.
  • Unimproved Lots - Quarterly accessibility charge $163.20 per EDU (not yet connected).

Facility Info

Recently upgraded 450,000 gallon per day treatment plant constructed by Worcester County.  Plant produces high quality effluent.  Discharges to shallow groundwater injection field or to Eagle’s Landing Golf Course where it is used for irrigation of the golf course.  Has an emergency discharge connection to West Ocean City Wastewater Collection System for ultimate disposal through Ocean City.

Water is provided by a system of three (3) water wells and a water treatment facility.
Mystic Harbour, Assateague Point and Bayside Landings water systems are interconnected for better reliability and redundancy purposes.

Quarterly domestic and commercial user rates are as follows:
  • Minimum water & sewer $300.00 per EDU.

Additional water and sewer charges based on usage as follows:

  • $5.00 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.
  • $15.00 per 1,000 gallons over 22,500 gallons.
  • Flat rate domestic sewer only service: $309.38.

Sunset Village – The Sunset Village Home Owner’s Association shall pay $75 flat rate per EDU quarterly for water service.

Unimproved Lots - Quarterly accessibility charge:

  • $255.00 per EDU (Not yet connected).

1970’s version lagoon treatment plant with surface discharge serving approximately 150 customers.  Discharge is currently being changed to spray irrigation by the end of 2020.

Newark sewer assessments:

Facility Info

Initial facility was developer-built but was twice upgraded and expanded using county funding for a 2.5 million gallon per day treatment plant.  Facility produces high quality effluent that exempts the customers from “flush fee”.  Effluent is discharged to the Saint Martin’s River.

Water is provided by five (5) water supply wells. The high water quality of the supply aquifer for this system requires only pH adjustment and disinfection.

Quarterly Domestic and Commercial user rates are hereby set as follows:
  • Minimum water and sewer $209.00 per EDU.

Additional domestic water and sewer charge based on usage as follows:

  • $5.00 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.
  • $15.00 per 1,000 gallons over 22,500 gallons.
  • Quarterly Flat rate domestic sewer only service $241.13 per EDU.
  • Standard assessments for debt service are hereby established at $36.00 per EDU quarterly.
  • White Horse Park lots quarterly water and sewer flat rate of $160.00 per lot.

Facility Info

Developer-built water and wastewater system to serve approximately 750 unit development.  Facility was constructed, then turned over to the County to operate.  Includes a 280,000 gallon per day wastewater treatment plant producing high-quality effluent which is discharged into a 15 million gallon holding pond the sprayed onto the adjacent golf course for disposal.

Water is provided from two (2) water supply wells and a water treatment facility.

Quarterly domestic and commercial user rates are as follows:
  • Minimum water and sewer $350.00 per EDU.

Additional domestic water and sewer charges based on usage as follows:

  • $5.00 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.

Riddle Farm assessement for debt service $9.00 per EDU quarterly.

Facility Info

Developer-built wastewater treatment plant turned over to the County for operations.  Facility has a capacity of 112,000 gallons per day and effluent is spray irrigated in a dedicated spray field.  Future plans are to move to spraying effluent onto the golf course as the development builds-out.

Water is provided by the Ocean Pines Water System

River Run shall pay Ocean Pines Service Area for water as provided by contract at the following rates:
  • Minimum quarterly water $73.15 per EDU.
  • Additional water charges based on usage as follows:
    • $1.25 per 1,000 gallons up to 22,500 gallons.
    • $3.75 per 1,000 gallons over 22,500 gallons.

User rates set as follows:

  • Flat sewer at $254.38 per quarter per EDU.

Unimproved lots:

  • Quarterly accessiblilty charge $206.28 per EDU (not yet connected).

Facility Info

Publicly built wastewater collection system only.  Operates five (5) pump stations including a major pump station capable of pumping this wastewater under bay to the Town of Ocean City for treatment and disposal.

Most of West Ocean City is served by private water wells serving individual homes.   The larger commercial areas obtain water from the Mystic Harbour System.

Quarterly domestic and commercial user rates for sewer are hereby adopted at:
  • $139.38 per EDU.
  • Unimproved lots - quarterly accessibility charge $46.75 per EDU (not yet connected).
