Mosquito Control

The County, along with the Maryland State Department of Agriculture, has a cooperative mosquito control program. Program activities include mosquito-borne disease surveillance, mosquito surveillance, biological control, ground and aerial application of insecticides, source reduction and public education. It is the mission of the mosquito control program to prevent mosquito-borne disease in humans and domestic animals and to reduce mosquito populations to an acceptable level.

This program is responsible for administering and implementing mosquito control services throughout the County. It is the policy of the County Commissioners that rural homeowners and businesses have access and apply to the program so the public is protected in the best applicable manner.  Other areas such as home owner associations and towns are provided services solely by the Maryland State Department of Agriculture.

Application to the County’s program may be made by completing the website forms, providing payment for the seasonal spray fee via check, and sending both to the Worcester County Mosquito Control Office as listed below or by contacting the Mosquito Control office at the listing below and making the necessary arrangements for service.
