Worcester County Alcoholic Beverage Licenses expire at midnight on April 30 each year. All required forms are available for download below. Pursuant to the Alcoholic Beverages Article, Section 4-404 of the Annotated Code of Maryland. Renewal applications will be accepted from March 1, until March 31 each year.
Required Documentation:
- Worcester County Health Department (WCHD) Certificate: Contact WCHD at (410-352-3234) to determine if an inspection is necessary. (Submit with application)
- Fire Inspection: Contact the Worcester County Fire Marshal at (410-632-5666), or the Ocean City Fire Marshal at (410-289-8780) for inspections. Once the fire inspection is completed and all fees have been paid in full, the respective Fire Marshal’s Office will electronically send to our office.
- Copy of Current Lease (If lease terms have changed)
- Stockholder Affidavit or Limited Liability Membership Affidavit
Submission Options:
1. Enclosed Paper Application:
- Complete the enclosed renewal application, including all required documentation
- Ensure that all notarized documents are properly completed.
- Include the appropriate renewal fee (refer to the enclosed fee chart)
- Ensure all handwriting is legible and includes each licensee’s name, address, phone number, and email address
2. Electronic Forms:
- The Board of License Commissioners has developed electronic forms that licensees can use to complete their renewal application or obtain additional forms.
- Although these forms can be completed electronically, they must be printed and submitted on paper.

**All renewal applications must be mailed or submitted in person. Beginning next year, paper renewals will be discontinued, and all renewal applications will be completed electronically.**

- Check: Payable to “Worcester County” in person or by mail.

**Renewals will not be processed until the renewal fee has been received**
Alcohol Awareness (enclosed with all mailed renewal application packages): Licensee or management review and update the Alcohol Awareness certified employee list. Please submit along with your renewal application.
Late Filing: In accordance with the provisions of the Alcoholic Beverages Article, Section 33-1802 a late filing will be accepted during the month of April with a late filing fee of $50 per day for each day the renewal application is late.
