The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a commercial structure fire in Berlin on Sunday November 19, 2023.
At 10:17 AM the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a structure fire at the Faith Baptist Church. Upon arrival crews observed smoke conditions coming from a boiler. Crews were able to isolate the utilities serving the boiler and brought the situation under control.
Deputies from the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene and conducted a thorough fire scene examination. The cause of the fire was determined to be an appliance malfunction within the boiler unit. No damages were reported.
Berlin was assisted by Ocean Pines, Ocean City, Showell and Newark Fire Departments.
