The Department of Public Works was created in July 1997, with the intent of moving all like departments under one umbrella to better serve the citizens of Worcester County.  Typical hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.and it located at 6113 Timmons Road in Snow Hill (for directions). The Department of Public Works is vital to the safety of our citizens during disasters or inclement weather.

The Department of Public Works is a diversified department comprised of the Public Works Administrative Office which oversees the five divisions within the Department:

• Fleet Management

• Maintenance

• Roads

• Solid Waste

• Water Wastewater
