Residential Structure Fire in Pocomoke

On Thursday, August 4, 2016 at approximately 12:39 PM, the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a residential structure fire at 407 Bonneville Avenue in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Upon arrival, crews observed smoke coming from a single story, single family residence and found a fire in the kitchen of the home. Crews quickly knocked the fire and remained on scene for approximately 1.5 hours performing overhaul operations. The home is owned and occupied by Chenita Harris. A fire investigation revealed the fire originated from unattended cooking on the stove. No injuries were reported. Pocomoke was assisted by Stockton, Girdletree and New Church, VA volunteer fire departments.
