Worcester County State of Emergency Lifted

September 6, 2016, Worcester County officials have lifted the state of emergency that went into effect last Friday, as recommended by Worcester County Emergency Services Director Fred Webster and following declarations made by Ocean City and the State of Maryland in response to threats of moderate flooding during high tide cycles resulting from Tropical Storm Hermine.
“The Worcester County Commissioners wish to thank all who stepped in to protect the residents and visitors of the county over the weekend,” Commission President Jim Bunting said. “From Governor Larry Hogan’s team stepping in to provide assets, to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, to all the state, county and local public safety agencies who tracked the storm and worked together to keep the public informed and safe.”
