Pocomoke Hazmat (Animal Waste Spill)

On Wednesday night August 30, 2017 at 9:20PM the Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a spill near the intersection of Rt 13 and Lynden Avenue.  Upon arrival there was an unknown substance found spread along a several hundred feet area of the roadway.  With the assistance of the County's Special Hazards Response Team it was determined to be animal waste and contribute to a motor carrier hauling the waste.  The carrier was located out of Delaware.  The spill was unkown to the driver.  State Highway had an environmental contractor respond and clean up the waste.
