Smoking Contributed For Cause of Berlin House Fire

The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office has conducted a fire investigation which occurred at 11:20AM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10345 Old Ocean City Blvd in Berlin, Maryland.  Arriving firefighters found smoke extending from an outside rear porch.  The house was a duplex and one of the occupants was at home at the time of the fire.  No injuries were reported with the fire.  The house is owned by Edward Reister and was occupied by two other families.  Damage was minimal and contained to the outside of the house and rear door opening.  The cause of the fire is accidental from careless smoking.  Anyone with questions or information may call Fire Marshal Jeff McMahon at 410.632.5666 or jmcmahon@co.worcester.md.us.
