The county boat ramp, located six miles from US Route 13 off MD Route 371 in Pocomoke, will undergo rehabilitation work and will be closed to the public for approximately 90 days beginning May 26, 2015. The anticipated reopening is September 15, 2015.
This three-month project will cost approximately $174,417 for the reconstruction of the boat ramp, which will include extending the ramp further into the river, floating finger piers and providing wheel stops on the ramp, thereby allowing more boats to safely access the boat ramp. Project funding is available through Waterway Improvement Grants (WIG) from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and assigned designated funds from Worcester County.
