Men's Basketball League Returns for Fall Season

Men’s basketball returns to the Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC) this fall, and registration is now open. Teams are invited to compete in this fast-paced league. Scores and standing will be kept, and the league will culminate with a playoff tournament that will determine the league champion.

Games will be played Thursdays, September 10 through November 19, from 7 - 10 p.m. at the WCRC, just off U.S. Rt. 113 in Snow Hill. The League is open to participants ages 18 and older.

Renters' Tax Credit Deadline Approaching

The Maryland Renter's Tax Credit program's deadline to apply is less than two weeks away. Qualified renters can receive up to $750 in tax credits.

Sign Up to Step on the Gridiron at Worcester County Recreation and Parks Flag Football Camp

Worcester County Recreation & Parks (WCRP) is offering a week-long Flag Football Camp for youth entering grades 1st through 8th. The Camp will take place at the Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC) in Snow Hill beginning Monday, July 27, from 9:00 a.m. - Noon at a cost of  $75 per participant. Whether you have stepped out on the gridiron before or this is your first time throwing the pig skin, this camp has something to offer everyone. Learn game fundamentals along with skill development, technique drills, and with game strategy in daily game.

Commissioners Welcome new Human Resources Director

The Worcester County Commissioners named Stacey Norton, PHR, and CPM as the new Human Resources Director. Norton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Auburn University in Alabama.

Prior to stepping into her new role with Worcester County Government (WCG) on July 6, 2015, she served as the Complex Human Resources Manager for Perdue Foods, LLC in Milford, Delaware. She brings 16 years of generalist and specialist experience in Human Resources and six years of IT experience to WCG.

Youth basketball camp returns to Worcester County Recreation Center

Worcester County Recreation & Parks (WCRP) is offering youth an opportunity to participate in Basketball Camp again this summer. This week-long camp is open to youth entering grades 1st through 8th. 

Camp will take place at the Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC) in Snow Hill beginning Monday, July 6, and will run from 9:00 a.m. to Noon for only $75.

Delaware Volleyball Academy and Worcester County partner to offer summer camp

Worcester County Recreation and Parks (WCRP) has partnered with Delaware Volleyball Academy to offer a summer volleyball camp this year. This general skills camp will teach campers the fundamental skills of volleyball, including passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Campers will be separated into groups based on age and ability level.

This camp will take place at the Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill, Monday through Wednesday, June 29 - July 1. Camp will run from 9:00–11:00 a.m. for grades K–3 and 9:00 a.m. to2:00 p.m. for grades 4–12.

Worcester County Recreation & Parks offers off-site day camps

New to the summer camp lineup, Worcester County Recreation & Parks is now offering two day camps, one at Shad Landing State Park and a second at Frontier Town Water Park. These camps will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and are open to youth in grades 4–8.     

Shad Landing Day Camp will take place Monday, June 29. The day will be packed with fun in the pool, followed by the Parks' Wings & Things exhibit. The afternoon will be spent on their many nature trails, exploring the great outdoors.

June 1 Marks the Start of Hurricane Season - Learn to Prepare

June 1st marks the start of hurricane season. Maryland Emergency Management Agency’s Director Clay Stamp, along with representatives from Delmarva Power Company and local emergency agencies encourage you to be prepared for hurricane season.
