Last Friday evening (April 6), MDOT SHA closed the US 50 Harry Kelley Memorial Bridge in Ocean City for necessary safety repairs. While crews were there, they were able to evaluate all of the approach span beams and upon further assessment of those beams, MDOT SHA has decided that it is best to make proactive repairs to the bridge to ensure its reliability as we approach the busy season, as well as to add service life to the bridge.
Starting at 10 p.m. on April 15th, crews will work for five nights next week (Sunday night until Friday morning from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.), to make these proactive repairs. The detour is the same as Friday night’s closure, which is MD 90. Crews will be off the road each morning no later than 6 a.m.
