Worcester County Recreation & Parks Closes County Park Playgrounds/Suspends Park Pavilion Rentals Starting March 23

While WCRP usually encourages people to take advantage of recreational spaces and get together at county parks, at this time we are asking you not to bring your kids to the playgrounds. Schools are closed in an effort to keep kids, teachers, and parents apart to help minimize the potential spread of COVID-19. For WCRP to keep playgrounds open and encourage families to use them would not only work against that strategy, but would also work against the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Worcester County Health Department.

At this point, public health and well-being is the highest priority of WCRP, and in an abundance of caution the playgrounds will remain closed until further notice.
Parks and trails will remain open for “passive recreation,” such as walking and jogging. We strongly advise park users to practice social distancing and appreciate your support and patience as we work together to keep everyone safe.
