Snow Hill, MD- Fall into fitness this October and participate in the 3rd Annual Making Strides for Awareness Fun Walk to be held on Wednesday, October 7th at Byrd Park in Snow Hill, Market Street. This is a free event co-sponsored by the Worcester County Health Department and the Town of Snow Hill. The first 50 registrants will receive a HOPE water bottle.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while getting some physical activity with friends, family, and other community residents. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. and the 1.1 mile walk will start at 5:45 p.m. This year’s Fun Walk will focus on Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence. Prior to the walk, a “Five Minutes to Save a Life” CPR training will be provided by Tom Kane, Worcester County Emergency Services.
There will be a Tai Chi demonstration at 5:30 p.m. provided by James Yamakawa of Parks Martial Arts and World Taiji Boxing Association. Participants are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Health Department will be available to register individuals for the Just Walk program and provide free blood pressure screening.
Just Walk is a free, self-directed, self-reported, incentive-based physical activity program that rewards participants for mileage of physical activity accumulated. Just Walk members can earn sweatshirts, t-shirts, step counters, and more.
