Commissioners proclaim October as Fire Prevention Month in Worcester County

October 1, 2019, the Commissioners stand with representatives from the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office and Worcester County Volunteer Firemen’s Association to recognize October as National Fire Prevention Month and October 6-12 as National Fire Prevention Week.

Those pictured include Volunteer Firemen’s Association President Tim Jerscheid (front row, from left), Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Matt Owens, Fire Marshal Jeff McMahon, and Senior Deputy Fire Marshal Rob Korb; Commissioners Josh Nordstrom (second row, from left), Diana Purnell, and Chip Bertino; and Commissioners Bud Church (third row, from left), Jim Bunting, and Ted Elder.

The Commissioners urge all residents to support this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape: Plan and Practice Your Escape,” by making and practicing an escape plan. Doing so will help to assure that home occupants are prepared to make the best use of their time and to escape safely in the event a fire occurs.
