West Ocean City Home Damaged By Fire

The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a residential house fire at 12355 Snug Harbor Road in West Ocean City, Maryland.  The fire was reported at 10:32PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Firefighters from Ocean City, Berlin, Showell, Ocean Pines and Newark volunteer fire departments responded to the fire.  Arriving firefighters found heavy fire showing from the house.  The house suffered heavy damage.  The property is owned by Susan and Richard Carmine.  The house was a second home for the Carmine's and was not occupied at the time of the fire.  One firefighter was transported to AGH with a leg injury and later released. The house had working smoke alarms.  The house was not equipped with a residential fire sprinkler system.  The cause is listed as accidental and contributed to an electrical malfucntion.  Anyone with questions or information is asked to call Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Matt Owens at 410.632.5666 Ext. 2 or mowens@co.worcester.md.us
