Three Hospitalized After Early Morning Bishopville Fire

The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a residential house fire at 12121 Salt Point Road in Bishopville which occurred early Monday morning February 18, 2018 at 3:30AM.  Firefighters from Bishopville, Berlin, Showell, Ocean Pines and Ocean City, along with several Sussex County volunteer fire departments responded to the fire.  Arriving firefighters found heavy fire showing from the house.  The house is a total loss.  The property is owned by Mark and Becky Ange. They were home with their son at the time of the fire.  All three were transported to PRMC.  Mrs. Agne suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns and was later transported to Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore.  The extent of the other injuries is unknown at this time.  Two family pets, a dog and rabbit died in the fire.  The house had working smoke alarms.  The house was not equipped with a residential fire sprinkler system.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Fire Marshal Chris Vieira at 410.632.5666 Ext. 5 or cvieira@co.worcester.md.us
